Duffy Role Model

On Tuesday Michel Mulipola visited our school. Michel is a comic book artist and a pro wrestler. His love of drawing and reading inspired some of the students. He illustrated the book Headlocked: The Last Territory. He is a wrestler at the Impact Pro Wrestling. He enjoys his time as a wrestler and  artist.

First Syndicate Assembly

Last week on Monday, Room 12 hosted the first Senior Syndicate Assembly for Term 2. Firstly, I welcomed the rooms to our assembly. Then, we sang a song called How Far I'll Go. Next, we had an epic lip sync battle. Room 11 was defending their L.S.B championship title. Two contestants from each class participated in the contest. Sadly, Room 12 couldn't win because we were the hosts. Dominic and Penny won the competition. Everyone enjoyed it.

Duffy Assembly

Today we had a duffy assembly and our visitors were Henry and Robert Rakate. Last time we saw Henry was at Tamaki Primary last year. He said that Robert Rakate inspired him. Robert was very funny and entertaining. Robert told us about his year eight child. Robert played the Brown Wiggle. Robert Rakate used to work at Mai.FM and then moved to the Breeze. His favourite book was an Astrix book.
   

Senior Syndicate Assembly 2017

On Tuesday we hosted the first Senior Syndicate Assembly for 2017. After interval we practised our Assembly in the Multipurpose Room. Vaimoana chose our songs. The first song was 'Be Happy' and 'Lean On Me'. First we welcomed Ms Riley to the Senior Block. For the assembly we had a dance competition. Each class had to choose two or more students to dance.

Senior Syndicate Assembly

On Monday Room 12 hosted the Senior Syndicate Assembly. Aydrian and Meana did an item, it was a class feud. I was representing Room 12 and I came last. I was disappointed but I still had a great time.

Room 12 Syndicate Assembly

On Monday we hosted the first Senior Syndicate for Term 3. We had to set up the Assembly. Aydrian and Timote Junior were setting up the teams for our Olympic tabloids. Timote Junior had to hold the container with the country names inside. Rachel from the Winter Learning Journey, gave a certificate to the people who participated. Prizes were given to the people who published the most blog posts.       

Vector Assembly

On Thursday the vector company sent Ester to our school to talk about where most of our power comes from. She showed us videos of a dam and  turbines. Most of our turbines were located south of the North Island such as Wellington and Te Apati. She showed us how solar power works with light.  If you would like to watch a video click here.

Our Duffy Assembly

Last week on Friday we had a Duffy Assembly, our guest was Ravinder. She was talking about how reading is important because it's going to help you in the future. It was so fun. She is a sports reporter and works in the news media. Our Duffy books were given to us.
